Webfm is an admin tool so you must have an active account to use it. The Drupal module is enabled so drupal-username@drupal.org logins can be used.
Right clicking on file and directory objects presents context sensitive menu operations.
Clicking on directory links opens the directory in the right hand listing. File links download the file.
There are 3 methods of importing files into the system:
- Inline upload via the upload fieldset inside the manager
- File transfer with ftp or shell into webfm dir/subdir accompanied by a database insertion via the menu or bulk insert buttons on the listing header
- Optional legacy method of file transfer to ftp dir with a drag-and-drop operation into the webfm dir/subdir
Drag and drop of directories move all subcontents and adjusts the database accordingly.
Attachments do not rely on file location so reordering the directory structure doesn't affect the functioning of referenced files.
Drag and drop can set attachment order.
.htaccess can be applied to the webfm root directory to make the files private. Webfm streams downloads and thus your browser doesn't require direct http access to the directories.
